Art Installations

Welcome to Corpus Christi Mural
The Welcome to Corpus Christi mural is a vibrant and colorful mural that greets visitors as they arrive at Corpus Christi International Airport. The mural is located right after the terminal exit gate and is the perfect photo-op for visitors, featuring a variety of images that showcase the city's unique culture and attractions.
A Texas native, Savannah Garza is a creative force inspired by her state, Tejano heritage, and global adventures. Her freelance work includes custom illustrations, graphic design, and branding, reflecting her vibrant Texas roots.

When the Sun Meets the Sea
Experience the breathtaking grandeur of a mesmerizing cold-cast glass sculpture at the Hayden W. Head Terminal. Renowned Chinese artist Shan Shan Sheng has masterfully crafted a 42-piece exhibit that is sure to captivate all who behold it. Each panel of the sculpture is intricately designed with cold-cast glass in an array of shapes and vibrant colors, creating a stunning visual display. Suspended from the ceiling with sleek stainless steel aircraft cable, this masterpiece is a true marvel of modern artistry.
Haley's Wing
"Haley's Wing," completed in during the most recent appearance of Halley's Comet, is a mixture of antique and ultra-modern shapes which convey a sense of the history of flight. It is a kinetic mobile moved by random air currents pushing against the sails.

Portal Del Mar
Created as a welcoming gateway to the sea, "Portal del Mar" is evocative of the meeting of the land and the sea and was inspired by Priour's upbringing in Corpus Christi and in particular by childhood visits to the beach.

USS Lexington Model
Commissioned in 1943, the USS Lexington set more records than any other Essex Class carrier in the history of naval aviation. The ship was the oldest working carrier in the United States Navy when decommissioned in 1991.
This USS Lexington model was built and created by Robert Bray, Bob Hardavich, Paul Cosgrove, Delray Fischer, Rodney Earl, Eugene Mapes, and Luis Garcia. Mosaic artwork was created by Darren Edwards.

Military Model Airplanes
- R4D Military Transport Aircraft. This model is a replication of a cargo plane originating from the Marine Corps. Air Station "El Toro" base near Irvine, California.
- NC-12K referred to as "Connie" under a project named "Project Magnet- Paisano Dos". Also referred to as a "Super Constellation", this aircraft was believed to be used in a secret government program to track UFOs.
- Japanese Mitsubishi A6M Zero. A fighter aircraft, a single-seat, low-wing monoplane used with great effect by the Japanese during World War II.
- The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk is an American single-engine, single-seat, all-metal fighter and ground-attack aircraft that first flew in 1938.
Sister Cities Exhibit
The Sister City Committee studies ways and means of improving relations with the Corpus Christi Sister Cities and advises, consults, and assists the Mayor, the City Council, the City Manager, and all other City agencies, boards, and officials in accomplishing the purposes of the Sister City Program.
Corpus Christi Sister Cities include Agen, France, and Yokosuka, Japan.

Art Museum of South Texas
Located in Downtown Corpus Christi, The Art Museum of South Texas advances awareness, appreciation, and knowledge of visual art by presenting exciting exhibitions, offering dynamic education programs, and actively collecting and preserving a vital permanent collection that educates diverse communities.
Art pieces are donated for viewing purposes at CCIA and swapped out bi-annually.

Corpus Christi Museum of Science & History

McGregor Photograph Collection
John Frederick "Doc" McGregor moved his family to Corpus Christi in 1929 while travelling from Pennsylvania to California. Originally a chiropractor, he opened a practice but struggled financially during the Great Depression. Doc, a passionate photographer, opened a photo studio that proved more successful. Over the next few decades, he documented South Texas life, capturing everything from major events to everyday moments. His vast collection of negatives is now housed in various institutions across Texas, including the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, which has generously loaned several of Doc's photographs to CCIA.
